Page 2         Making a Bead Dangle with a Briolette Bead

Step 1:  Cut and straighten a 6 inch segment of 26 gauge wire.  (With some briolette beads, 24 gauge will also work.)

Step 2:  Slide 2 inches of this wire through the hole in the top of the bead.  Now bend both sides of the wire up to form an "X" above the bead.  The wire should appear as shown at right.

Step 3:  Grasp the longer segment of wire just before the cross in the "X" and bend this wire segment up.  See the picture, below left.

Step 4:  Wrap the short segment around the long segment about two times.

Step 5:  Cut the excess wire.  Using one pair of bent chain nose pliers grasp the two wire segments below the wrap.  With a second pair of bent chain nose pliers squeeze and twist the short segment of cut wire so that it is flat.  At this point your Briolette bead should appear as shown bottom, right and you can use this as you would any bead dangle made with a head-pin.
