Page 1                         Corkscrew Earrings

These earrings may not look simple to make, but they are actually rather easy.  Once you have the technique, it should only take 10 to 15 minutes to make a pair of these Corkscrew Earrings.  Like all one piece earrings, they stand out as being custom made earrings.  This is a beginners jewelry making project.

        Jewelry Making Supplies:

Tools Required:

  • 11 inches of 20G soft gold-filled wire
  • Two 2" gold-filled head pins
  • Two six mm crystal beads

  • Round Nose Pliers

  • Flush Cutter

  • Chain Nose or Bent Chain Nose Pliers

  • 1/4" Dowel

  • Cup Bur

  • Chasing Hammer

  • Anvil

  • 20 minutes of free time

Jewelry Making Skills Required:

  • Use of a dowel as a form for wrapping wire.

  • Ability to make an "Eye Loop".

  • Ability to make a bead dangle using a head-pin and bead.

  • Ability to harden wire using an anvil and chasing hammer.

  • Ability to smooth the ends of cut wire with a "Cup Bur".
