| Step 12a: Re-grasp the wire with your chain nose pliers and bend
it around the initial loop so that it makes one complete loop.
Step 13a: Cut the excess wire and press the wire tail flat. Squeeze the wire component in nylon jaw pliers or with your fingers to flatten the wire. |
|
|
Step 14a: Cut two 1/2 inch segments of commercial chain. Step 15a: Using a piece
of 24g wire about 2 1/2 inches long, make a
wrapped bead link to connect the top of the wire component you
completed in step 13a to one of the segments of commercial chain.
|
|
| Step 16a:
Open the loop on an ear wire finding and connect the top of the
commercial chain segment to the ear wire finding. Then
close the loop in the ear wire finding.
Step 17a: Now with three head-pins, add three bead dangles to the three bottom loops in the wire component. I used 6mm Swarovski crystal beads for the bead dangles. Instructions on how to make a bead dangle are provided here. At this point, your earring should appear as shown at right. Make a second earring and you are done with this jewelry making project. This wrapped loop wire component is more difficult to make than the wire component that we competed in page 5. It may be easier to make the above earrings using the wire component made earlier. This will work fine. Make two of the wire components using the earlier pattern and then jump to step 14a above. |
