Beaded Swag Earrings

There are numerous jewelry making alternative configurations to this basic design.  Here are some samples.

One alternative is to move peg 1 and 3 each up toward peg 2 the same number of holes.  You can move the pattern up 1, 2, 3, or 4 holes and make different earrings.

Another alternative is to use a longer or shorter chain.  The earrings at right use a longer chain with 15 links.

A third alternative is to hang a bead from the loop around peg 2 as shown at right.

A fourth alternative is to use 6mm beads instead of 4mm beads.  With 6mm beads you can get by with either 3 or 5 bead dangles instead of the 7.

A fifth alternative is to wrap fine gauge wire around the top of the wire component.  If you look closely at right you will see 24G wire wrapped four loops on either side of the center loop.

If you get very energetic, you can even start with the original design and wrap wire across the top half of the wire component and thread beads on this wire segment.  If you do it right, you can make eyes out of your beads and hang a bead dangle as the nose making the finished earrings look like a face.    I started to make one of these earrings, but ran out of energy.  I think you will find one of these alternatives that works for you.
