Jewelry Making Project -- Classic Hoop Earrings Pg 02 Made with WigJig Jewelry Tools, Beads and Supplies

Step 1: Begin by cutting 10 inches of 1/2 hard wire either Sterling Silver, gold or gold-filled. Straighten the wire. Now grasp the wire 1 7/8 inches from the end and make a bend in the wire of about 80 degrees as shown at right.

Step 1

Step 2: Grasp the long segment of the wire as near the bend as possible using your round nose pliers. Now make a loop as you would for a wrapped loop. To do this properly, you will need to reposition your grip with the round nose pliers to complete the loop.

Step 3: Insert the round nose pliers into the loop you just made and wrap the long wire segment around the shorter wire segment until all the wire is used and the piece appears as shown at right. Use your chain nose or bent chain nose pliers to squeeze the end of the wrapped wire tight.
