Step 11: The bracelet shown at right was made with eight of the
links made as shown previously, plus seven 6mm beads, two 3mm metal beads, a
commercial clasp and 2.25 inches of fine chain. The eight wire links
are connected to one another by wrapped bead links made with 22G 1/2 hard
wire. Instructions for the wrapped bead link are provided
here
and are discussed in greater detail in our jewelry making online book
"Wire Design Basics". The first and last wire link are connected
to the commercial clasp via a wrapped bead link made with a 3mm metal bead.
This is done to keep the overall length of the bracelet at 7.5". You
may have to adjust the size of these metal beads or eliminate them entirely
according to the size of your clasp and the size of the person's wrist that
will wear this bracelet. The fine guard chain is added at the same
time as the clasp. |

Our matching earrings jewelry making design is a very easy project. Make two more of the metal links. Connect one end of each link to an ear wire finding like the ear wire with post and ball shown at right. Using a head pin, connect a 6mm bead identical to the bead in the bracelet to the bottom loop in the wire link. You can also add a metal bead with the 6mm bead. I used a 2.5mm metal bead in the earrings shown at right. Use the same wrapped loop technique to attach the headpin and bead or beads to the wire link. |
